Yes, most Skandinavian watches look very much alike, sharing a common aesthetic of the barest simplicity. flatness and a usually very thin bezel that
allows the dial to occupy most of the watch's real estate. Form follows function in the most modern sense.
But...the Nordgreen Native differs in its incredible thoughtfulness.
The watch's caseback is ingeniously thought out.
The lugs angle steeply downward which at first glance might appear uncomfortable. However, the caseback is convex with a perfectly flat circular battery compartment, of perhaps one millimeter in depth, at the caseback's center, raising the watch just barely above the wrist. In other words, the watch
"floats" just barely above the wrist, supported by the superbly polished lugs and battery compartment.
Much simpler than it sounds, this arrangement makes the watch incredibly comfortable and almost weightless, allowing full movement for the wrist with no restraint., whatsoever. Ingenious.
I switched out the original strap for a Rios 1931 (organic) Kempten which at 2.2mm adds to the overall weightlessness and comfort.
The Native looks great, keeps amazingly accurate time and is impossible to not glance at throughout the day, even if you don't wish to see the time.
I love it.
